Tot School: August-September 2010

With all that I have to keep up with for school,
I thought I’d join the Tot School link up to help keep myself accountable for you all up-to-date with what the Littles have been doing.

TOT SCHOOL
with the 3 year old

Circle Time
We go through our prayer, pledges, and songs,
IMG_5417
calendar math with patterning and counting
IMG_5419
(including place value, graphing, weather, and money),
IMG_5424
sequencing and reading.
IMG_5423
(a side note: circle time is mostly for the benefit of my Kindergartener, but it’s a great way to sneak in some higher skills for the Littles, not to mention having them take an active part in our daily school routines, as well as a great review for my 2nd grader.)

Tray Time
We practiced drawing our Letter of the Week: the letter ‘A’…IMG_5375  and then some.IMG_5359
We sorted pom-poms by color.
IMG_5407IMG_5408
We transferred beans from one bowl to the next,  IMG_5389
using spoons to scoop, IMG_5388 and just pouring straight from the bowls.IMG_5400

Blanket Time
with her choice of books and a quiet activity.IMG_5411

Computer Time
with Starfall and her baby brother.

TOT SCHOOL
with the 22 month old

Circle Time
He had his turn leading our daily start-off.
IMG_5432

Tray Time
(he prefers to work on the floor)
Working those fine motor muscles by putting Capri Sun straws into the top of a coffee creamer bottle
IMG_5366
and a bonus activity when he dropped them on the floor and got to play 24-straw pick up.
IMG_5376
He loves to put fuzzy pom-poms into this domed container. Ours originally held some fresh basil, but a top and cup from a shake would work, too.
IMG_5386
Pouring beans using a measuring cup and bowls.IMG_5396IMG_5401IMG_5399

Blanket Time
Kid is ob.sessed with cars!

Game Time
She got Uno Moo! for her
birthday and it has fast become a family favorite.

This post is getting long, so check back for a specific post on this game later, and hopefully more Tot School, too!

Hi, I found your blog through Tot School. I really like your calendar/pattern idea.
My girls really enjoy Starfall too. Looks like some really great activities for all your little ones.
I am now following your blog.
If you have a chance I invite you to stop by my blog.
Blessings

I LOVE the creamer container and C.S. straw idea! I made a pom pom and container "toy" for Audrey but think I'll make yours too!
