Wednesday in the Word: Colossians 1:5-6

I'm continuing to memorize Colossians this year with Beth Moore's Scripture Memory Team, and to help me I am studying Colossians, verse by verse, and joining Sam's Noggin with Wednesday in the Word.

Colossians 1:5-6
S--...the faith and love that spring from the hop stored up for you in heaven and about which you have already heard in the true message of the gospel that has come to you. In the same way, the gospel is bearing fruit and growing throughout the whole world--just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and truly understood God's grace.

O--Our faith and love comes from the hope we have stored for us in heaven--we know this because we have heard it in the gospel. When that faith and love, which is sourced from the hope of the gospel, is shared, it grows and produces more faith and love--which we can't help but do once we've heard and understood.

A--Am I acknowledging the source of my faith and love? Am I bearing fruit from which others may benefit? I pray that is so! But I think I am only beginning to "truly understand God's grace".

P--Lord, Thank You for Your grace! Help me to grow in my understanding, for I know that as I grow, I will bear fruit and thus help the gospel of hope, full of faith and love, to grow throughout the whole world. Amen.

  2. Thanks! It seems a bit daunting, trying to memorize a whole book, but this method of chewing on it helps it become ingrained rather than just words I'm memorizing.

Thank you for your sweet comments. I'm not always able to respond to every comment that's left, but I do read and appreciate every one!
